کتاب حاضر ترجمه ايست از کتاب The Essentials of Conditioning and Learning تاليف پروفسور مايکل داميان استاد دانشگاه تگزاس آمريکا. ايشان محققي سرشناس در يادگيري به شمار مي رود و داراي تأليفات متعدد در اين زمينه است از جمله کتاب درسي و بسيار موفق The Principles ofLearning and Conditioning که کتابي است مفصل تر و براي دوره هاي تحصيلات تکميلي تنظيم شده است. اين اثر کتاب درسي بسياري معتبري است که در سال 2005 ويراست پنجم آن در دسترس علاقه مندان قرار گرفت. متعاقب آن پروفسور داميان به تأليف کتاب حاضر همت گماشت که براي درس يادگيري دوره کارشناسي تنظيم شده است. حجم کتاب مناسب حوصله درس 3 واحدي دورة کارشناسي است و در نتيجه استفاده از همه کتاب و دورة کاملي از مقدمات اين مبحث براي دانشجويان ممکن مي شود.نکته بسيار مهم اين است که اکثر کتابهاي موجود براي درس يادگيري در دورة کارشناسي به فارسي، کتابهاي مکاتب يا نظريه هاي يادگيري هستند. با اذعان به اينکه نظريه هاي يادگيري مطلبي کاملاً مهم، حساس، و ضرور است به نظر ميرسد محتواي اولين درس پايه در يادگيري در دورة کارشناسي بايد اصول يادگيري و مطالبي از آن نوع باشد که در کتاب حاضر معرفي شده اند. مبحث نظريه ها ضرورتاً بايد پس از کسب تسلط کافي بر اصول يادگيري مطرح شود.افزون بر اين، ترجمه حاضر ميتواند به عنوان کتاب درسي جنبي براي درس يادگيري در دورههاي کارشناسي ارشد و دکتري نيز مورد استفاده قرار گيرد. به ويژه با توجه به اين امر که دانشجويان دورههاي تکميلي روانشناسي با سوابق متفاوت به اين دوره ها وارد مي شوند اين کتاب مي تواند مطالب پايه اي لازم را براي استفاده بهتر از مباحث دوره هاي تحصيلات تکميلي در اختيار دانشجويان بگذارد.به هر حال اميدواريم ترجمه اين کتاب و ارائه اين خدمت کوچک مورد قبول اساتيد معظم و دانشجويان گرامي قرار گيرد. لطف اين بزرگواران و اظهارنظر آنان مسلماً در رفع نقائص و ارتقاء کتاب حاضر بسيار مغتنم و موجب سپاس فراوان خواهد بود.دكتر رضا زمانيدكتر فيروزه طاهرپور
