Abstract:TheObsessive-Compulsive Inventory-Revised (OCI-R) has been developed to evaluatethe severity of obsessive-compulsive symptoms in both clinical and non-clinicalindividuals. The present study investigated the psychometric properties of aPersian version of this scale. The OCI-R Persian version was completed by 400graduate students from the University of Tehran and Tehran University of MedicalSciences. Results revealed satisfactory internal consistency as measured byCronbach’s alpha coefficient (ranging from 0.50 to 0.72). In addition, thesix-factor structure found by the original study was confirmed in the presentstudy by a confirmatory factor analysis. In brief, the Persian version of theOCI-R seems satisfactory for measuring obsessive-compulsive disorder symptoms innon-clinical samples. However, future research is needed to confirm these datain a sample of OCD patients.
